Investment Advisor
As an Investment Advisor at Scotch Whisky Investments, you build long-term relationships with entrepreneurs and high-net-worth investors. You combine commercial drive with financial expertise and act as a credible peer and trusted advisor to your clients.
What will you do
As an Investment Advisor, you are responsible for independently attracting and guiding new investors. You activate your existing network, build new relationships and manage prospects from the first conversation through onboarding and follow-on investments. Rather than relying on a standard sales pitch, you start from the entrepreneur’s or investor’s situation, objectives and perspective.
You are a credible senior-level conversation partner who can engage naturally with entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, wealth advisers and family offices. Drawing on your experience in the financial sector, you understand their language, considerations and interests. You think and act from the entrepreneur’s perspective and build trust as a long-term trusted advisor.
You present SWI’s cask and rare whisky propositions in a consultative and well-substantiated way, discussing topics such as risk, liquidity and valuation. You own the full commercial process: qualification, proposal, negotiation, closing and onboarding.
You independently build a high-quality pipeline through referrals, events, introductions and proactive outreach. You develop sustainable relationships with intermediaries, accurately maintain your activities and pipeline in the CRM system, and provide reliable progress updates and forecasts.
You stay informed about developments in the whisky and alternative investment markets and share relevant market insights and investor feedback internally. Integrity and compliance are fundamental: you communicate carefully about our propositions and complete onboarding in line with applicable KYC and anti-money laundering procedures.
What do you bring
· A demonstrable, existing and actionable network of private investors, entrepreneurs, wealth advisers and/or family offices
· Proven new-business sales experience and a verifiable track record of meeting or exceeding individual revenue targets
· Relevant experience and expertise from the financial sector, for example in wealth management, private banking, financial services or alternative investments
· The ability to engage entrepreneurs and high-net-worth clients as a credible peer: you can operate at their level, understand their financial and business context, and think and act from the entrepreneur’s perspective
· The ability to build sustainable relationships as a trusted advisor, with trust and substance at the centre
· Strong consultative selling and closing skills, with the ability to discuss complex topics clearly and convincingly
· WFT certification is mandatory
· Fluent Dutch and English, spoken and written; German is an advantage
· Disciplined CRM use (Capsule or similar) and a professional approach to pipeline management and reporting
· Affinity with whisky, wine, art, luxury goods or other alternative/collectible asset categories is an advantage
· A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales Management, Economics or a comparable field is an advantage; relevant experience and a demonstrable track record carry significant weight
· A valid driving licence and flexibility to regularly attend client meetings, tastings, trade fairs and other events, including outside standard office hours
Who are you
· Commercially driven and entrepreneurial: you open doors yourself rather than waiting for leads to be handed to you
· Credible, composed and knowledgeable when dealing with experienced, critical and high-net-worth clients
· Relationship-oriented with a long-term perspective; you build trust rather than focusing only on transactions
· Target-driven, independent and comfortable with individual performance goals within a fixed salary + bonus structure
· Resilient, discreet and highly ethical; you communicate honestly and carefully, including about risks
· A team player who actively shares market insights and opportunities with the wider sales team
What do you get in return
· Competitive salary (depending on experience and network), supplemented by a performance-related bonus scheme
· Pension and annuity plan
· 25 vacation days
· Company laptop
· On-site gym
· Weekly Thursday afternoon drinks
